Scaffolding Inspector

The Scaffolding Inspector Course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to inspect scaffolding structures and ensure they comply with relevant safety standards and regulations. This course focuses on identifying potential hazards, verifying structural integrity, and ensuring safe working conditions for personnel working at height.

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of different types of scaffolding systems, inspection procedures, load requirements, and legal responsibilities. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications to prepare learners for real-world inspection roles in construction, oil & gas, and industrial sectors.

Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Understand scaffolding principles and components, including tubes, fittings, boards, and access systems.
2. Identify different types of scaffolding systems, such as supported, suspended, mobile, and cantilever scaffolds.
3. Interpret scaffolding design drawings and specifications to verify compliance with standards.
4. Conduct thorough scaffold inspections before use, during use, and after modifications.
5. Identify hazards and unsafe conditions, including structural weaknesses, overloading, and improper assembly.
6. Assess load capacities and stability requirements to ensure scaffolds are safe for intended use.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., international best practices and local legal requirements).
8. Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation, including tagging systems and checklists.
9. Recommend corrective actions and preventive measures to maintain scaffold safety.
10. Understand roles and responsibilities of scaffold inspectors, supervisors, and workers.
11. Promote safe work practices at height, including the proper use of fall protection systems.
12. Communicate inspection findings effectively to management and site personnel.
