Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)

This course provides comprehensive training in the safe selection, inspection, operation, and maintenance of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). Participants will first learn the fundamentals of respiratory protection and the situations where SCBA is required. The course then focuses on equipment components, cylinder and air supply systems, face masks, regulators, warning systems, and correct donning and doffing techniques.

Practical training may include SCBA inspection, equipment checks, mask fitting, cylinder handling, controlled breathing, movement while wearing SCBA, emergency response, and rescue scenarios. Participants will also learn how to identify equipment defects, manage low-air situations, and respond safely to emergencies. Upon successful completion, participants can receive an SCBA Safety/Operator Training Certificate, subject to the requirements of the training provider.
